Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear and what should I bring with me?
Wear clothing that is going to be comfortable to move around in, for example a t-shirt/vest top and jogging bottoms is fine. Please wear suitable footwear to exercise in, such as trainers. Flip-flops, Crocs or going bare foot will not be allowed to exercise in class. A sports bra is also a good idea!!
A bottle of water will be essential as you will ‘sweat’ (oh yes!). So water will be needed to keep you hydrated throughout the exercise session. And a hand-towel can be useful to help you with some of the toning exercises, to help with posture and alignment, and of course to mop your brow after all that booty shaking!
Do I have to get weighed?
There is no obligation to get weighed at class. If you wish to come for exercise only then we have a membership plan just for you. Our club is all about your overall health and fitness and is aimed at everyone, whether you have weight to lose or just want to come along to a fun and friendly exercise session. You choose which part of the session suits you best. If exercise is your thing then that’s fine with us!
How much weight will I lose at the Weigh In sessions?
At our sessions we are not going to focus only on weight loss – after all people actually don’t see the number on the scales but they see YOU! How you LOOK, ACT and how you FEEL!
Your weight is comprised of much more than just the number on the scales – it contains good things such as muscle, water, bone as well as fat. And, if you can improve the ratio of all these things to a healthier level you will improve your capacity to lose fat and keep it off in the longer term. Remember there is no quick fix despite what some companies try to sell you, so we’ll help you lose a realistic amount for you at a steady rate that you will be able to maintain.
Do I have to book?
Booking is not essential but we do like to keep our classes at a comfortable number of participants to allow adequate space for the exercise session. In the event of a class becoming busy, places will go firstly to existing members that attend regularly and then to any new people who have contacted us to ask for a place to be reserved for them. Any remaining places will then be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Do I have to exercise in class?
There is no obligation to exercise in class. If you prefer to just come to get weighed then we have a membership plan just for you.
What support is included?
All the support you need is included in your membership. We are here to help you to achieve your goals. If you have a question or just need to talk then I am always available by phone or email.
Can I change my Weigh-In class?
You are free to change which class you get weighed at. Simply let us know and we will update your records.
Do classes run all year round?
Classes will run all year round, apart from two weeks around Easter, in the Summer and at three weeks at Christmas. If a class does have to close for any reason due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. snow, hall problems, details will be posted on this website, our Facebook page, in an e-newsletter and in notices displayed in class.
What should I do if I have a medical condition?
Every person is asked to complete a health screening form at the first class they attend so that I know if you have any health issues that might affect your participation in class. You will then be responsible for informing me if there are any changes to your health from thereon in. For certain conditions, you might be asked to get your GP’s approval before exercising. If you have any concerns please feel free to call or email and we can have a chat before you come along.
What about exercise during pregnancy?
New members who are pregnant and haven’t exercised with us before are not able to join our exercise classes. We would be very happy to welcome you to class following your post-natal check-up.
Existing members who become pregnant will need to get clearance from their GP before continuing with the programme. You will be required to inform us of any change in your condition.
What about dieting during pregnancy?
A healthy diet is an important part of a healthy lifestyle at any time, but is especially vital if you’re pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Eating healthily during pregnancy will help your baby to develop and grow, and will keep you fit and well.
You don’t need to go on a special diet, but it’s important to eat a variety of different foods every day to get the right balance of nutrients that you and your baby need.
It’s not safe to go on a diet while you’re pregnant and you should not attempt to lose weight. It’s understandable that you’re worried about your weight, but dieting could be harmful for you and your unborn baby.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash in class for weekly fees and standing order payments for monthly membership fees. When purchasing class passes and other membership schemes through our website you can pay by Maestro, VISA and Mastercard.
Do I have to pay if I miss a class?
Unlike most other ‘slimming’ clubs we do not penalise you if you are unable to attend classes for whatever reason. We encourage you to attend each and every week so that we are able to help you achieve the results you would like to achieve but we do understand that sometimes life just gets in the way and you just can’t make it!
If for any reason you can’t make your regular class you are more than welcome to attend an alternative class on our timetable so not to miss out.
Are there additional costs?
Everything you need to come to class is provided, including any equipment we use. You just need to bring your towel or a mat if you’re exercising. Otherwise you are ready to go.
Can I change Membership Plans?
You are able to upgrade your plan at any time. Just let us know and we will take care of the rest.
You can downgrade your plan after the end of the introductory period.
Can I cancel at any time?
Premier Club and Premier Club+ members can cancelled after three months of membership.
Platinum Club is an annual scheme and cannot be cancelled since it is the only way we could offer you such a greatly discounted price. However, it does not automatically renew so you are in control.
Pay As You Go members can cancel after one month of membership.
Note: A re-join fee would be charged if you later decide to return.
What about Refunds?
Membership & class fees are non-refundable. It is your responsibility to cancel any standing orders made to us from your bank account. Fees received in error cannot be returned.
If you are dissatisfied with any products purchased from us we will always endeavour to exchange it. Refunds are provided only if the item is faulty or defective.
