In the early 20th Century Joseph Pilates developed a system of movement called Contrology, a mix of yoga, boxing, gymnastics, dance, acrobats ad weight training.
Popularity grew and Contrology later became known as Pilates, the fundamentals being alignment, breathing and centering, the principles based on whole body health, whole body commitment and breath!
Reformer Pilates promotes core strength, alignment, flexibility and total body muscle strength without bulk. The Reformer is a piece of equipment which has a gliding carriage attached by springs to the body of the Reformer.
Exercises are performed lying down, back, front and side, standing and sitting offering all the benefits of Pilates with the additional benefits of increased resistance and versatility for fast results.
I have drawn on the original principals of Contrology and my 20+ years of helping midlife women to feel strong and fit to create dynamic fun group reformer classes where you will leave feeling amazing.
